An Introduction to Silver Clay Jewellery

Course Outline

• How to roll PMC to a consistent thickness
• Using textures to pattern the clay
• Cutting the clay using cutters
• Making holes in the clay
• Refining dry PMC
• Kiln firing PMC
• Polishing PMC

We'll also learn all about mould making with silicone moulding compound and how to use your moulds to produce silver ornament. At the end of the course you will leave with at least one finished piece of silver jewellery, (enough PMC to make another piece of Jewelry if you upgrade to 9kg)

Skills

Making a textured pendant by adding texture with or without a cut out shape in the centre and joining two dry pieces of clay. Creating rolled silver fixings and decoration using a silicon mould (dragonfly, bumble bee, flower etc) Creating a second pendant using prints for decoration from a selection of rubber moulds or by taking impressions. Firing Polishing and finishing

Details & Options

10-3 includes a light lunch £95 for a taster piece size of silver which will make 1 large or one small and a small ornament. £125 for 9g a size which will make more than one pendant, The taster course includes 5.6g of PMC Flex, two sterling silver jump rings, silicone moulding compound and refreshments.
